Earlier this year we reviewed Gemini, the duplicate finder, and came to the conclusion that it was a pretty great app. It worked incredibly well at finding any duplicated files on whatever disk you threw at it. That’s not to say it didn’t have its faults, but the folks at MacPaw have worked hard on flattening out the creases and have produced a great free update to their beautiful app.
Let’s take a look at the new features in Gemini, and see why it’s still one of the best ways to clean up duplicate files from your Mac. Plus, we’ve got 5 copies for our readers, so keep reading to see how to enter our giveaway!

Bundles are a great way to get a ton of new apps for a great price. I’ve gotten several of the apps I use all the time, including Billings and WriteRoom, from bundles, and recently picked up some great new games and soundtracks from the latest Humble Bundle. The Humble Bundle is especially neat since you can pay just what you want, and this week, there’s a great new bundle with apps to help you be productive on your Mac that works the same way.
Our friends at StackSocial are running their Name Your Own Price Mac Bundle this week, which is one of the best deals we’ve ever seen for Mac software. You can get 6 great apps for any price you want, and if you beat the average price others paid for the bundle, you get Forklift 2, Typinator, and MacFlux 4 as well! Best of all, 10% of your bundle price goes to charities such as the EFF and Charity:Water.

All the goods in the bundle!
The Name Your Own Price Bundle is a great deal already, but we’ve got an even better deal for you. StackSocial gave us 10 of the full, beat the average price bundles with all 9 apps for our readers! You just might get the whole bundle for free!

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to fill your Mac with duplicate photos? If you’re using a Mac with an SSD, such as a MacBook Air, you’ll notice it quickly, but even if your space requirements aren’t as stringent, it’s still frustrating to have to browse through duplicate photos.
That’s what’s exciting about PhotoSweeper. It’s a nicely designed app that takes the pain out of sorting and removing your duplicate pictures. It uses 5 methods to find duplicate photos, even ones that have been edited or saved in other apps. Then, you can preview photos together to decide which one to keep. It’ll make organizing your photos easier than ever.
Earlier this year, our team gave PhotoSweeper a 9 out of 10 in our review, and found it to be a great way to reduce the space pictures are taking up on your hard drive. That’s why we’re excited to have 25 copies of it to giveaway to our readers!

Keeping up with your bills can be so difficult, and it can be rather stressful to know how badly one missed bill can affect you. That’s why Chronicle is such an exciting app. It’s designed to make it easy to remember to pay your bills, with push notifications to make sure you don’t forget, and an integrated browser so you can pay bills without even leaving the app.
Chronicle has been recently updated with retina graphics and more. We love it in our latest review, and think you’ll love it too. That’s why we’re excited to have 5 copies to giveaway for free to our readers!

Our giveaway is now closed, and congrats to Dimitrios Savvopoulos, timlou, and Rafta for winning a copy of Scrawl! Be sure to stay tuned for our upcoming giveaways in the future!
We’re always looking for better ways to take notes. There’s so many things to think about, Post-it notes just don’t cut it, and even Mountain Lion’s built-in Notes app doesn’t fit what most of us need. We need a simple place to put notes and quickly find them again, no matter where we’re working.
Scrawl is a great app for that. It’s a note taking app that lives in your menubar, one we were excited about when we reviewed it earlier this year. Since then, it’s gotten even better, with iCloud integration, native keyboard shortcut and Share Sheet support, and more. It’s a great way to quickly jot down notes in your menubar and find them whenever you need them.
Scrawl normally costs $1.99, but we’ve got 3 copies to giveaway for free to our readers. If you’d like to win a copy, just leave a comment below telling us why you’d love to start using it. For an extra credit, share the giveaway on Twitter, Facebook, or App.net, and then include a link to your update in your comment, and you’ll get two entries in the giveaway.
Our contest will close on midnight Monday, September 3rd, so hurry and get your entry in!
Envato staff or people who have written more than two articles or tutorials for AppStorm, however, are ineligible to enter.
We just closed our Macbundler giveaway, and our winners are Worbi, Zane, jkb, Luis Gallengo, and Tensou Honretsu. Congrats to our winners, and stay tuned for our next giveaways!
If you’re needing a way to edit and OCR PDFs, run Windows apps on your Mac, make invoices, create logos, design beautiful slideshows, and more, you’ll be excited to hear about today’s giveaway! No, we don’t have a new super-app we’re featuring. Instead, we’ve got 5 copies of the Macbundler bundle to giveaway!
The Macbundler bundle is one of the most exciting bundles we’ve seen in a while, with 8 apps for $39. It’s got several very nice apps, too, that you might have already had your eye on, including PDF Editor Pro, an app that normally costs $99 and lets you edit and OCR PDFs. It also includes CrossOver XI, a Wine-powered Windows emulator that lets you run many Windows app directly on your Mac, as well as Invoice 3, a nice invoicing app.
It’s a great deal, but best of all, 5 of our winners will get the entire bundle for free!

Quite a shelf of apps!

It’s always fun to snag a great deal on an app. $2 Tuesday has lately been keeping Mac app deals in the headlines with their great deals on popular apps every Tuesday. I personally got a copy of TaskPaper through the $2 Tuesday discount several weeks ago, and it’s quickly become part of my daily workflow.
This week, there’s 3 new apps on $2 Tuesday that just might end up becoming part of your daily workflow soon. All day today, you can get each of the following apps for just $2 (or really $1.99 plus tax in the App Store):
- Squirrel – A great personal finance management app that was a former Apple Design Award winner.
- Sip – A simple color picker app for developers that lets you pick colors and copy them with simple keyboard shortcuts.
- TerraRay – An easy to use terrain rendering app that lets you easily create your own 3D landscape.
Each of these apps are a great deal for just $2, but the best thing is, we have 2 copies of each of them to giveaway to our readers!
