About Times

Times is a re-think of how people use and read news on their computer. Instead of treating news like email (as most RSS readers do), Times presents you with headlines and photos from a variety of sources all in one place. Like your own personal newspaper, you can put feeds into separate areas and easily create pages for different subjects.

Our Review of Times

If you’d like to find out more about Times, our review is a great place to start. Here’s a quick summary of what we found:

Times is a great RSS Reader and provides a fresh interface that isn’t matched by any other application on the market. The price seems fair, if not a tad high, for such an application, but the multitude of free options out there are worth a look. Times is great appliction if you haven’t had much luck with other RSS readers, especially if you are tired of the old e-mail inbox interface approach.

How to Enter

All you need to do to enter is follow us on Twitter @macappstorm. It’s that easy!

The competition closes in exactly 24 hours, and we will randomly select the winner(s) shortly afterwards. This post will be updated with the winners information and we’ll get in touch with you.

A big thanks to Acrylic Apps, the developers of Times, for sponsoring the competition. Good luck, and be sure to follow us or subscribe so that you can find out if you’re a winner!

  • Time is lovely, easily the best RSS for looks. I love the shelf and the way it’s laid out. Not only is it good looking but in my opinion it works.

I email the developer about this problem though and they did get back to me although didn’t really answer it. But it’s a dead app to me without Google Reader sync. Especially with the iPhone for reading RSS too. This proves to be the best option in my opinion.

Until this happens, I can’t use this lovely looking app. Also it can get quite sluggish and slow sometimes.

Why oh why are there no decent looking and working RSS apps that support Google Reader on the Mac???

  • This app looks very interesting, I’ve been wanting to try it ever since I first heard of it.

I too jumped on the twitter bandwagon thanks to the giveaways this December.

Times would be awesome, as I’ve gotten tired of NetNewsWire’s quirks, and, sadly, it’s interface. This looks pretty and fresh

  • I got a copy of Times in the MacHeist bundle a few months back. It’s a neat app, but my feed collection is too large for it to handle very well. So I’m sticking with Newsfire still.

I hope to, one day, find enough time to work on a web app idea I’ve had that would, in a slightly Times-like manner, make it easier to scan through feeds. I have other projects to attend to first, though.

  • @fellowweb

  • This app certainly makes RSS feeds that bit more interesting, @dswnz

  • seeing that i don’t read newspapers and get all my news via rss, this would make a great alternative. :) BTW my twitter account is @daba_nz

  • @bramn

  • @josephhug

  • @troberto

It looks like a really well-done app, so I’d love to try it out.

  • @faktory

  • Following @suaransidhu. i really want this app. dont like net news wire bacause of the ads.

  • @jacobbuck … this looks interesting. since most of my web browsing relies on rss, it would be worth checking out :)

  • @feldin

  • Already following. Looks like a really cool app!

  • Agreed. Google reader sync makes everything so simple. If only there was reeder for mac like the one for iPhone. But I realized there are some apps that are able to grab feeds from google but just not sync them.

  • Wohoow!!! I´ve used the trial for some days now and I love it!!

I do follow you guys on twitter (@Chabrall)

  • Hello,

this is a good idea full of bug (i own it, and sent the bugs to support without answer months ago). Even on the screenshot here above we can the the artefacts on top right and left of the main window. At the begining i though it was to imitate a real newspaper pages, bug this is annoying.

  • i follow you guys

  • LOL you have over 9.000 followers. Yeah, that’s a good shoot. LOL
