Thanks to Our Weekly Sponsor: Flux

I’d like to say a big thank you to this week’s sponsor, Flux. Billed as an advanced HTML5 Web design application, Flux is capable of creating stunning sites from scratch. Far from being a simple template based solution, it’s a creative design environment.

Flux can edit existing sites, or create brand new ones using HTML and CSS. You can even drag and drop in pre-designed objects like photo galleries and navigations menus.

Whether you’re wanting to create your first website, or you’re a seasoned pro, Flux is definitely worth giving a try! It’s always good to try out a range of design and development tools, and I’d certainly recommend experimenting with Flux today.

It’s priced at $119.99 on the Mac App Store, and you can download a fully-functional trial from The Escapers website to decide whether its for you.

This is a really great free-form web design app.

It doesn’t use themes, for those of you who are designers, that’s good. For those of you who aren’t, maybe not quite so much! A great theme made by a good designer can help someone building their first website for their small business (they need to think content, not design), but get in the way of someone with good design ideas they want to implement themselves.

Work in design view, or change the code. Useful beast of an app when wanting to make a quick edit to an existing site IMO.

I’m a designer mostly and have been using Flux as I learn coding. It’s nice because if you get stuck you can use the wysiwyg editor. You still need to have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS to use Flux but I think that is a good thing.

I can also see how this would be good for rapid prototyping or quickly sketching out the skeloton of a website.
