I have used this app and installed the plugin on my windows mobile HTC HD2. The driver is battery intensive when running in the background.
When I installed this my phone would only last half a day with very little use, once i removed it I can get 2 days out of the device.

In fact, SyncMate driver installed on your device is active only when the sync process is performed. The possible reason of your problem can be constant connection of your device to a Mac (when your device is connected, Sleep mode cannot be enabled on it). Anyway, this cannot discharge your battery much and once you’re away from your Mac connection will fail.

We may assume, that your device was connected via Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi turned on CAN charge your battery a lot. And synchronizing via Wi-Fi can be the reason why your battery is so weak. Anyway, SyncMate is not the reason as this will happen with any sync software you may use when syncing your files or just transferring them to any other device via Wi-Fi connection.
