One of the complaints we as Mac users hear most from our Windows-touting companions is that Macs are no good for playing games above the complexity of Angry Birds. They say that if you enjoy games, Windows is your only choice. While this may have been a valid argument in the previous decade, it doesn’t hold up nowadays.

Video games are fueled by competition, skills, fun, determination, and of course, bragging rights. In all fairness, competition always brings us to bragging rights. And why wouldn’t it? As long as you are not a cocky trash-talker, bragging rights can be given to those who humbly prove themselves to be at the top of the food chain.

The Mac App Store launched back in January last year and amongst apps from all categories, it’s home to a number of games from both indie and big name developers. From iOS games that have found their way to the Mac to new games created just for the App Store, the Mac App Store seems to definitely have been a positive development for Mac gaming, at least Mac casual gaming.

For a while now, the Mac’s game library has become quite extensive.
