We’ve all been there: you copy a link or an image that you wanted to share with someone, but then you forget about it and accidentally copy something else over it. Sounds familiar? Yeah, that’s why you need an app to remember what has been in your clipboard.
There are plenty of apps that do just that: keep a history of the contents of your clipboard. Seriously, just search the App Store for “Clipboard” and see for yourself. We’ve all had to carry over text between different places, and it’s really annoying having your text pasted with all sorts of different weird formatting styles and other things that don’t carry over so well like bullet points, which then double your work as you have to correct and re-format what you’ve pasted to make it coincide with the rest of your text.
The app we are reviewing today is called TextScrub, and as its name implies, it can help you tidy up the text that’s in your clipboard so that it’s more easily transferred over. Sound interesting?

Quickly and easily sharing information between Macs and iOS devices is something many of us need to do regularly. If you need to share a grocery list, link, phone number, library call number, or image file between a Mac and an iOS device, there are many options for getting the information on one device or the other. For example, you can email it to yourself, make a new note in one of the many cross-device syncing notes apps, or edit a Dropbox file.
But what if sharing that information were as easy as copying it to the system clipboard? The three apps included in this comparison review—CloudClipboard, CloudClip Manager, and Cloud Clip—all use iCloud to sync your clipboard between Mac and iOS devices. (Yes, it was hard to keep these straight for the review.) This can potentially make sharing that grocery list between devices much easier, but which app should you go with? Read on to find out our top choice.
One of the many cool new features that we got with Mountain Lion was native integration from the OS to services like Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo and Flickr, as well as Apple’s own Messages and Airdrop. Haven’t checked them out? Try pulling up the Notification Center and check out those “Tweet” and “Post to Facebook” buttons, or right click anything inside the Finder and go to the “Share” submenu. Cool, huh?
Unfortunately, sharing to those services is kind of limited to a few places in the OS, like the ones that I mentioned. If you want to share something from your browser (if you don’t use Safari) or any other place, then you’re out of luck. Wouldn’t it be cool, then, to have an app that implemented these sharing dialogs system-wide? We’ve got it, and we’re checking it out today. It’s called Wrap.

The clipboard in your Mac can work for many things. Sure, its main intention is just to allow you to move text or files from one place to another, but you can also use it along with a note taking app or a simple text file to keep up with links, text and files that you would like to use later.
