We just closed our giveaway; congrats to our winners m13, Alaeddin, Edi, rjko, and loopion!
It’s so easy to lose track of your stuff. Sure, you’re unlikely to actually lose your fridge — if so, you’ve got bigger problems than an app can solve — but what’s the odds you’ll forget when your warranty’s up or how much everything in your office cost originally? When a spreadsheet doesn’t cut it, you need an app that makes it simple to track your stuff. That’s exactly where the new Compartments 2 excels.
Compartments 2 is a new OS X Mavericks-focused upgrade to one of the best Mac apps for keeping track of your stuff. It can keep track of everything you own, remind you when your warranties are almost up, and make it easy to print out a list of all your stuff organized by room. It’s great — and this week, we’ve got 5 copies to giveaway free to our readers!
All you’ve got to do to enter the giveaway is leave a comment below and let us know why you’d love to get a copy of Compartments 2. Then, you can optionally share the giveaway on your social networks and leave a second comment below with a link to your shared post for an extra entry.
Hurry and get your entry in — our giveaway closes on Friday, November 22nd!
Envato staff or those who have written more than two articles or tutorials for AppStorm are ineligible to enter.
It’s a great idea to keep track of everything you own, one of those things you likely remind yourself of when you’re walking through IKEA trying to find a new bookshelf. Then you go home, pull your hair out trying to setup said bookshelf, and promptly forget to record your purchase anywhere.
There’s a number of tools designed to help you keep track of the stuff you own, from the lauded Delicious Library that we found too memory-hungry and feature-lite for much good to the now-discontinued Bento database app. You could even keep a spreadsheet of stuff you own, but that’s not very fun or simple.
Or, you could use the new Compartments 2, an inventory app that’s perfect for cataloguing everything you own without too much fuss — and with some OS X Mavericks only features, too.
We all love finding great deals, but it’s easy to waste more time trying to find good deals than it’s worth. Then, it’s easy to get tempted to get things that you don’t really need right now, just because they’re a good deal.
What if you could spend $2 and let your Mac find the deals you’d like to know about automatically? That’s exactly what LittleFin’s new app, Deal Alert, is.
The popularity of online bill paying simplifies our lives in many ways (not to mention the tree savings), but without a solid piece of mail arriving at the door, it can be tough to remember the due dates for the many bills we pay each month. While you could set up repeating reminders in iCal, and keep track of what you’ve paid on spread sheets, the developers of Chronicle promise an easier way to keep track of bills for the memory-and-math-challenged.
Unlike many other finance apps, which try to do everything from creating budgets to tracking transactions, Chronicle is dedicated solely to helping you pay the bills. Find out if this simplified approach can prevent bill-related anxiety in today’s review!
We’re pleased to announce that the five Compartments winners have been chosen. Congratulations are in order to:
- Francisco Graciani
- Atanas Kirjakovski
- Mike Douglas
I’m also pleased to let you know that we’ve been given a discount code for Compartments. If you didn’t win, don’t worry!
Just use the code THANKYOUFIN at checkout, and it will take $6 off the price of Compartments (making the total price only $8.95).
After recently reviewing LittleFin’s latest app – Compartments – I’m pleased to let you know that we have five full licenses to give away! Compartments is a “home inventory app”, built to help catalog and track any and all of your worldly belongings, from software licenses, to furniture, to your brand new car.
LittleFin offer “free upgrades for life”, so you’ll be sure to benefit from any future additions with your free license code as well!
To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post answering the following question: If you could win any Mac application, which one would it be?
I look forward to seeing what you come up with, and wish you all the best in the competition. We’ll be randomly selecting the five winners in one week, on Thursday, 5th August. Thanks for reading AppStorm!
In this Quick Look, we’re highlighting Compartments. The developer describes Compartments as a new, easy-to-use home inventory program. It is designed to help you protect your valuables with as little effort as possible. It has innovative features like Quick Add and Quick Apply to make entering data fast and easy.
View your items however you want: sort by location, or tag items and organize them into auto-updating collections. Plus, generate quick insurance reports.

All of us deal with bills in one way or another, whether through running a house, car, family, education, or expensive software obsession. It’s easy to lose track of what needs to be paid, and at what time. Rather than having an elaborate system of sticky notes, Chronicle aims to provide a central resource for storing all your bills and recording payments.
The application is still young with a number of areas for improvement. That said, I’m a fan of the concept, iCal integration, handy reminders, and quirky, original interface.
