2Do has been a mainstay among iOS task managers for quite sometime. Previously, editing tasks in 2Do was limited to using Toodledo’s web interface—for many users this is a less than ideal experience. Consequently, many 2Do users have been anticipating a desktop app for sometime. That day’s finally come, and 2Do for Mac is finally here.
How did this popular iOS app transition over to OS X? Pretty well I would say, as you can probably tell from the title. In this review I’ll compare 2Do with two popular competitors, Appigo’s Todo and The Hit List, and we’ll see how it holds up.
Third party blogs provide a valuable way to find out about new software and, in the same way, a developer’s own blog is crucial for staying informed about the development process of your favourite apps. It is arguably the same tool that we use to share, review, and use great Mac applications that has also driven the increased importance of communication between a developer and a user.
Successful software developers are fully aware of this relationship, but what happens when a developer fails to uphold this tried-and-true method of communication? My assertion: pay for independently developed software at your own risk.
The Hit List is a fantastic task manager for OS X, and certainly worth taking a look at if you haven’t before. As ever, our review is a good starting point to learn more about the app.
The two randomly selected winners are:
- Kevin Cannon

Following our review of The Hit List a couple of days ago, I’m pleased to announce that we have two copies of the fantastic application to give away. Worth $49.95, it’s a great chance to get your hands on one of the best task managers available.
Entering is simple – all you need to do is leave a comment, letting us know the main tasks you’re working on today (I’m intrigued to know what all our wonderful readers get up to!)
The competition will run for one week, and we’ll randomly select the two winners on Wednesday 15th July. Good luck, and be sure to follow us on Twitter or subscribe to the RSS feed to find out if you’re a winner!
The Hit List is an excellent new Getting Things Done (GTD) application from Potion Factory. Many GTD applications suffer from an overly complex experience that leaves you spending your days creating and customizing your task list rather than completing it. The Hit List instead opts for a simple, streamlined interface void of clutter and big on productivity.
This review will cover the basic functionality of The Hit List as well as it’s major selling points and shortcomings. Keep in mind that The Hit List hasn’t reached version 1.0 yet, so anything lacking may be addressed before the official launch.
